Ten (10) religions are represented in the IRO; Hindu, Jewish, Zoroastrian, Buddhist, Taoist, Jain, Christian, Islam, Sikh and Baha’i. A unique rotating annual presidency among the ten religions ensures that all member religions are given an equal opportunity to lead the IRO’s long-term efforts. It also engages with various religious communities in its efforts to further religious harmony in Singapore. IRO engages in ongoing dialogue with other similar global and local organisations (such as World Council on Religion and Peace (WCRP), the Asian Council on Religion and Peace (ACRP), Inter-Racial and Religious Confidence Circles (IRCC)) in the pursuit of fostering a collaborative approach towards inter-religious harmony. IRO has published several books and pamphlets including the book “Religions in Singapore” and “Religious Customs and practices in Singapore”.
