EYECU is a social enterprise founded by 3 college undergraduates, with the guidance of an endearing mentor, who is a licensed eye doctor and co-founder of a visual reality start-up. EYECU aims to use digital media solutions such as Augmented Reality (AR) and social media to engage the community in raising awareness about preventable blindness. We achieve progress by way of greater awareness of the importance of eye screening to facilitate early detection of these diseases in others amongst us so as to prevent the need for surgery or irreversible visual impairment/blindness from an untreated illness; that may result from late detection.
