SMU Impact Investing Club is a first of its kind initiative among universities in Singapore that aims to take the Impact Investing movement forward as it's still gaining ground in Asia. SMU Impact Investing aims to achieve 3 main objectives by way of this initiative. 1. Bridging the awareness gap The club seeks to build a community of student leaders who believe in making this world a better place. The club will offer networking and mentorship opportunities with professionals working in this space across industries. 2. Developing refined research Impact Investing seeks to equip students with the relevant skills to develop financial and economic insights that will help inform real investments in the sector. We seek to make our reports industry relevant. Our reports will add a unique layer of development economics insights in addition to analysis based on financial and social metrics. 3. Encouraging Impact Investments We aim to evolve to a club that makes real Impact Investments in the future by way of an annual competition which enables the winning team to fund a sustainable investing initiative they pitch for.
